Tim Scott Whiteley

Baritone

Born in York, England in 1980 Tim Scott Whiteley started his singing career as a chorister at York Minster. In 2000 he won a choral scholarship to Christ Church, Oxford, where he studied German and Linguistics. In 2004 he founded, directed and sang with the Oxford-based, Renaissance ensemble Cantores Aedis Christi.

In September 2004 he moved to Vienna, Austria where he co-founded Cinquecento, an a-cappella ensemble specialising in music from the sixteenth century Habsburg court. Cinquecento has to date made ten award-winning records for the Hyperion record label. Tim now sings regularly with some of the world’s finest ensembles including the Huelgas Ensemble (P. Van Nevel), Ensemble Gilles Binchois (D. Vellard), Alamire (D.Skinner), Cappella Mariana, Per Sonat (S. Lutzenberger), Le Miroir de Musique (Baptiste Romain) and the Clemencic Consort (Rene Clemencic). Since 2012 he has been the regular baritone with The Tallis Scholars (P. Phillips), singing over 300 concerts around the world.

Tim lives in Lower Austria and also works as a voiceover speaker, translator, lyricist and vocal coach.
